University of Hyogo Makes Its Debut in the THE Impact Rankings 2025 and Earns a Spot in the Overall Ranking2025.07.10

University of Hyogo made its first appearance in the THE Impact Rankings 2025 last year.

On June 18, 2025, Times Higher Education (THE) , a UK-based magazine specializing in higher education, announced the results of THE Impact Rankings 2025. University of Hyogo was ranked in the 1501+ bracket out of 2,526 universities worldwide in the overall ranking. Domestically, the university was placed in the 51st–68th bracket, alongside 17 other institutions.

THE Impact Rankings is one of the university rankings published by Times Higher Education (THE), a higher education magazine issued by the British newspaper The Times. This ranking evaluates universities based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including areas such as environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth, and partnerships.
To be included in the overall ranking, universities must submit entries for at least three goals from SDGs 1 to 16, plus the mandatory Goal 17, totaling four or more goals.

This year, University of Hyogo submitted entries for four SDGs. The results were as follows:

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – Domestic rank: 19–31 / Global rank: 401–600
SDG 15: Life on Land – Domestic rank: 18–28 / Global rank: 401–600
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – Domestic rank: 42–45 / Global rank: 801–1000
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – Domestic rank: 53–70 / Global rank: 1501+

University of Hyogo will continue to promote initiatives aimed at achieving the SDGs, in collaboration with local communities, NGOs, and government agencies.
